Plumetis Pullover pattern PDF.
“Dreamlands”, Pom Pom Quarterly’s theme for their Spring 22 issue, inspired me to design a very light, dreamlike lace garment, half-way between a cotton-candy blouse and a featherlight sweater, complete with a frilly collar and dramatic sleeves: a modern fairy garment with an Alice in Wonderland vibe.

NOTES
worked from the bottom up, mostly with a single strand of mohair lace, with a simple drop-shoulder construction.
The body is worked in the round, with WS facing, up to the underarms, then the upper back and front are separated and worked flat to the shoulders.
The straight shape and oversized fit works well in the light, flowy fabric. The large and dramatic sleeves are stylishly gathered at the cuff, and the sweater is embellished by a large collar with a frilly scalloped edge. The collar, sleeve cuffs and bottom hem are worked in 1x1 twisted rib using a fingering / 4-ply-weight yarn: this adds a contrasting element to the design and gives structure to the garment.
The front shape of the collar is mirrored in the back. A small opening in the back neck is edged with a thin i-cord in the fingering / 4-ply weight yarn and closed with a single button at the top.
“Dreamlands”, le thème proposé par le magazine Pom Pom pour son numéro du Printemps 2022, m’a inspiré l’idée d’un vêtement à la dentelle aussi légère qu’un songe. Entre plumes et barbe à papa, entre pullover et chemisier, Plumetis est délicieusement léger et légèrement bouffant sous son col à froufrous. Une merveille de conte de fée pour toutes les Alice modernes !

NOTES
Plumetis se travaille du bas vers le haut. La majeure partie de vêtement est tricotée avec un seul fil de mohair.
Le corps est tricoté en rond en regardant l’envers du travail jusqu’aux emmanchures, puis le dos et le devant sont tricotés séparément à plat jusqu’aux épaules.
La forme droite “oversize” se marie bien avec la légèreté du tissu. Les manches larges sont resserrées au niveau du poignet. L’esprit chemisier est complété par le col claudine. Les côtes et le col sont tricotées dans un fil plus épais afin de structurer l’ensemble.
Une fente en forme de goutte fermée par un bouton finit le col dans le dos.
